The Marketing Lead is responsible for developing and delivering LSFF’s 2027 marketing campaign. They will shape and implement strategy across print, digital and press to maximise the festival’s visibility, expand its reach into new and underserved audiences and drive ticket sales.

Place of work: This post may be carried out remotely (within the UK), with in person attendance required in London for the full duration of the festival (22 - 31 January 2027) and for any key events and meetings before the festival
Additional requirements: The post holder must have access to their own laptop computer
Reports to: Festival Director
Key responsibilities
Develop and deliver LSFF 2027 marketing and audience development strategy in consultation with the Festival’s Director and Producer, driving audience awareness, ticket sales and engagement with first-time audiences and communities currently underrepresented within independent film culture.
Lead and manage LSFF’s digital presence across social media channels (TikTok, Instagram, Linkedin, Letterboxd, Facebook and X), creating, scheduling and publishing content, representing the festival online, and driving audience engagement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with festival sponsors, funders and strategic partners, ensuring they are effectively represented across marketing activity and receive promotional benefits.
Lead audience outreach activity across London, developing relationships with community organisations, educational institutions, venues, access networks and grassroots partners to increase awareness of the festival, broaden participation and drive attendance.
Work with the Access Coordinator and wider festival team to ensure accessibility and inclusion are embedded across all marketing and audience development activity.
Work closely with the Graphic Designer to develop and implement LSFF’s 2027 visual identity, ensuring consistent branding and messaging across all marketing materials and platforms.
Write, edit and proofread marketing copy, newsletters, press materials and audience communications.
Coordinate regular newsletter production, scheduling and distribution, monitoring performance and implementing strategies to improve engagement and grow the festival’s mailing list.
Lead on press and media activity, including pitching and securing coverage across industry, cultural and local media.
Oversee production and distribution of marketing materials including festival trailers, print materials, website content, on-screen assets and venue signage.
Lead the planning and delivery of flyer and poster distribution campaigns across London before and during the festival, including coordinating volunteers and placement students supporting this work.
Coordinating the creation of photo and video content and integrating it in the festival’s marketing campaigns.
Support design and production of audience surveys.
Track and analyse performance across ticketing, social media, newsletters and press, contributing to the festival evaluation report and funder reporting requirements.
Contribute to internal festival debrief and operational reporting processes, providing insight and recommendations to inform future planning and organisational development.
Line manage and support marketing placement students and volunteers.
Experience & skills
Proven experience developing and delivering successful integrated marketing campaigns within the arts, cultural, film or creative sectors.
Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media strategy, with knowledge of current trends and platform-specific audience behaviours.
Hands-on experience creating, editing and scheduling short-form digital content, including basic video editing skills for Reels and TikTok.
Excellent relationship building and management skills, with experience working with sponsors, funders, partners and other external stakeholders.
Strong networking and outreach skills, with the ability to build relationships that increase audience engagement, participation and awareness.
Experience engaging diverse audiences, including first-time audiences and groups currently underrepresented within the arts and cultural sectors.
Excellent written English with strong copywriting and proofreading skills.
Experience creating and adapting visual assets using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent.
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively and take initiative within a small team environment.
Experience gathering, interpreting and reporting audience data and campaign performance metrics.
Commitment to accessibility and inclusion across all marketing activities.
