This year, we open the festival with a personal touch. London Short Film Festival 2026 starts with an investigation into the past as narrated by the filmmakers themselves, and illustrated by personal diary footage, both via home video footage, early social media posts and archival documentation.
New work from Andrea Luka Zimmerman and John Smith delve into their own lives as artists across the decades, from Smith’s emergence in the early 70s artschool scene to Zimmerman’s own forays into 90s music and fashion, while we investigate skateboard video, early YouTube culture and family home movies in a programme that shines a spotlight on the inner self.
The attending filmmakers will join us for a Q&A following the screening.
