In September 2021, LSFF worked with Ukrainian film platform Takflix on a collaborative project showcasing female filmmakers from Ukraine and the UK, 7+7 (see the project here).
Ukraine's rich cinematic heritage and culture includes filmmakers like Maya Deren, Kira Muratova, Sergei Loznitsa and Oleg Sentsov and hosts film festivals including the Odesa International Film Festival, Wiz-Art Lviv, KISFF, Moldoist Film Festival and many more.
Our friends at Takflix are now calling upon the international film community to #StandWithUkraine, and encouraging cinemas, curators and collectives to organise screenings of Ukrainian films. Practical support, film rights and logistics advice is available from the team.
