MY EYE IS MY EAR
HERE/NOT HERE, dir. Bim Ajadi
Now a yearly staple, London Short Film Festival presents short films meditating Deaf identity, culture and language from both D/deaf and hearing storytellers.
From star-crossed lovers lamenting lockdown to supernatural occurrences, this year’s choices combine narrative structure and the lyricism of sign language and visual vernaculars to capture Deaf experiences buffering against a hearing world.
Each film captures both the uniqueness and universalities of the Deaf experience, engaging audiences both D/deaf or hearing.
